Ingredients:

  • 1 kg Pork spare ribs
  • 1 can (220g) Holiday Pork & Beans
  • 2 pcs potatoes, cubed
  • 6 pcs medium-ripe Sab-a banana, slice into half
  • 1 pc carrot, cubed
  • 2 pcs medium tomato, roughly sliced
  • 14 pcs Baguio beans, sliced into strips
  • 1 pc medium cabbage, roughly chopped
  • 1 pc each of green and red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 pc medium-sized onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 vegetable oil
  • 1 L water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For marinating:

  • 2 pcs kalamansi, juiced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 50 g tomato sauce
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Procedure:

  • Marinate meat with the marinating ingredients. Set aside.
  • In a heated casserole with oil, sauté onion, garlic, and tomato, add marinated meat.
  • Stir for about 2 minutes.
  • Add water, simmer till meat is tender.
  • Add potatoes, carrots, and pork & beans.
  • Simmer for another 3 minutes.
  • Add banana and the rest of the ingredients.
  • Season salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Serve hot. Makes 7-8 servings.
